TrepStudio is structured around one of the fastest growing majors in colleges—interdisciplinary entrepreneurship. The program prepares students to be ready to compete in life after Riverpoint Academy. TrepStudio is actively working with three “How Might We” questions this year:
1.) How might we design/create a new product or technology that makes a positive impact in our community?
2.) How might we communicate the power of that change through story?
3.) How might we build skill capacity to accomplish our goals?
Entrepreneurs are creative and innovative. They find and identify an existing problem and/or need and they turn it into a meaningful opportunity. Opportunity resides in the way we view our surroundings - for every problem lies opportunity. Often times, people dismiss their own creativity.
This course challenges students to reach a breadth of innovative design solutions, in various media, within any set time period. To do so, students will be aided with useful brainstorming techniques and strategies for success.
By road-testing these techniques while attempting challenges, students will find new and more effective ways of solving tough design problems and bringing innovative solutions to life.
As personal creative confidence matures, students will then find meaning in their own entrepreneurial venture, be a designer of their idea, and pursue its creation.
To design is much more than simply to assemble, to order, or even to edit; it is to add value and meaning, to illuminate, to simplify, to clarify, to modify, to dignify, to dramatize, to persuade, and perhaps even to amuse.
~ Paul Rand
