InventioneeringIn this course, students explore the ever-changing landscape of 3D Modeling and Open-Source Hardware in a fundamentally human context. Students will observe the world around them, uncover its stories, discover its needs, and create solutions to its problems. Students utilize advanced technology tools such as Arduino, 3D Printers, CNC, Laser Cutter, and Raspberry Pi to create problem-solving devices. All of this “content” will guide students to a greater learning focused on improving our creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Know who invented the windshield wiper?
In 1903 a young woman named Mary Anderson, who observed street-car drivers struggling to clear their windshields during rain and snowstorms, knew there had to be a better way.
Her solution to this problem has aided all of us for over a century!
Like Mary, we will observe our community, uncover its stories, discover its needs, and create solutions to its problems!
We will utilize tools (Arduino, 3D Printers, CNC, Laser Cutter, Raspberry Pi) to create problem-solving devices!
All of this “content” will guide us to the greater learnings that we care deeply about:
- improving our creativity,
- collaboration,critical thinking, and
- communication skills!
